Leadership Institute
Benefits
A
Solid Business Case
Women comprise 52 percent of the nation's workforce and are
a critical resource. Upper management, comprised mostly of
"Baby Boomers", are and will be retiring over the
next 10 years. Currently women only hold 6 percent of the
top management positions in American businesses. Additionally,
high turnover rates of women in the mid and upper level management
positions continue to impact the bottom line. Below are some
of the ways in which companies whose women participate in
WVLI benefit. Additionally, a comprehensive Business Case
is available upon request that provides current references
and many statistics from numerous well-respected sources.
Studies are cited that in 350 of the Fortune 500 companies
included in the research, there is a well documented connection
between more women in senior management positions and profitability.
The overall thesis of the Business Case is that well-prepared
women leaders at the upper management levels contribute significantly
to a company's advantage in the marketplace.
Cost Savings
WVLI helps highly qualified women to perform at their peak.
80% of our Participants and graduates are promoted during
or within six months of the program's completion. By creating
an environment where women can advance, companies avoid the
enormous costs associated with replacing women managers who
may otherwise leave in search of more amenable workplaces.
Further, it has been well demonstrated that companies who
develop a reputation for offering development and promotion
opportunities to women, attract other professionals (both
men and women) to the organization as well.
Increased Productivity and Efficiency
Women who have been through our program know how to handle
potential barriers to being accepted as full business partners.
They create cohesive teams. Through WVLI women gain enhanced
and expanded skills, to enable them to do their jobs more
efficiently and effectively.
Leaders Who Manage Change Effectively
At WVLI we teach women how to be effective change agents and
how to lead others during difficult times. We teach them how
to plan for major change, tie the initiative into the company's
values and vision, and how to involve employees. Change competency,
a significant leadership skill, is highlighted in all of our
work.
Retention of Competent Women Leaders
Our
commitment is to the employer as well as to the Participant.
We have an excellent track record of women who stay with and
contribute to the companies who sponsor them in our Women'sVision
Leadership Institute.
