Program

Over the 12 month duration of the program a leadership Coach is assigned to each participant and is the principal connection between the individual woman and the other elements of the program. The Coach provides personalized guidance throughout the program and partners with the participant's manager and mentor to create an environment to support and enhance the learning experience.

WVLI believes that the involvement of the participant's Manager enhances the development and success of the woman. The Manager and the participant's coach work together to support the woman's ongoing development. The input from the manager is important to the structure of a personalized growth plan.

Each Participant is aided in finding a Mentor. While the Mentor is guiding the Participant, he/she meets with the coach to help the Participant achieve her leadership objectives. When a woman needs additional assistance in specific job skills expert Resource People are made available.

Every four-five weeks, Participants attend a workshop to learn skills based on core leadership competencies and to network with other businesswomen. Between workshops, Participants work on assignments that insure learning applications for herself, her team and coworkers. More detail is available on the workshops by looking in the Program Content Section of this document.

In addition, executives from the Participants' companies (including the Participant's Manager and Mentor) are invited to attend an annual Culture Shift Event to learn about corporate best practices used to develop, promote and retain women leaders.

Continuing Education Units: Upon request, 13 Continuing Education Units (CEU's) are available from Colorado State University.
