With minimal impact on your busy schedule, Women’sLink consists of six, three-hour power-packed workshops (held every other week). No other program is going to give you the express version of tools and insights you’ll need to plan and manage your career. You won’t find this information in textbooks or at a new-hire orientation.
Consisting of lectures by Ginger DeReus, open discussions and a breakout session, each workshop is dedicated to one topic - this way you receive more in-depth information about what to look for, how to prepare for it, and how to best leverage your strengths for career advancement and success.
Nothing teaches better than experience! Divided into smaller groups, you will be mentored during each session by a senior-level woman. These executives who volunteer their time to mentor the students of Women’s Link, are accomplished, driven to succeed and have successfully climbed the corporate ladder and overcome obstacles along the way. Women’sLink gives you unprecedented access to learn from their experience, and understand how it can apply to you.
Women'sLink Explores Strategies to Support Leadership Development by:
- Allowing mid-level corporate women to explore career issues beyond their current organizational environment.
- Promoting an exchange of information and insights about ongoing and emerging corporate challenges among women of different levels and from different industries.
- Providing the opportunity to develop an ongoing network of women in the corporate arena.

Session Topics
Women'sLink PROGRAM STRUCTURE The discussion group consists of 30 mid-level, corporate women and five senior corporate women. In past programs, senior women participated from companies such as Coors Brewing Company, First Data Corporation,Bank One, Qwest, Storage Tek and TIAA-CREF. The program emphasizes an interactive approach with a mix of small and large group discussions.
LIFESTYLE & BALANCE Many working women struggle to achieve balance, but often find only "band-aid" solutions. This session explores tips and strategies for balancing work and personal time from both individual and organizational perspectives.
NETWORKING AND RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT Learn the skills and benefits of networking. Gain an introduction to the Success Skills, the four skills our research shows are essential to catapult to a senior leadership position.
CORPORATE CULTURE Corporate culture can vary dramatically among companies. This session explores your organization's culture, your compatibility with it and looks at strategies to help you increase your success with that culture in the future.
POWER & POLITICS This session helps participants to learn where their personal power comes from and how that form of power differs from positional power. Discussion will also focus on how to become more politically savvy, so that you are working with people instead of against them.
CAREER MANAGEMENT You only have one career manager - yourself. This session will help you learn how to maximize your current career strengths as well as how to look for opportunities to grow your talents for future use.
SUCCESS STORIES This year, the Women'sLink program will weave four essential Success Skills throughout the program. In a new session called Success Stories, participants present a personal success story about one area that especially impacted them.
