Women’sVision Foundation is focused around the leadership development of women.  The Women’s College of the University of Denver is focused around the educational development of women. Each organization shares a mission to make it possible for women to reach their full potential.

The Women’s College offers the Vision Scholarship covering half-tuition, to four deserving women to make earning an undergraduate degree more accessible, while they continue to work and raise families. 

Women’sVision Foundation will celebrate this extraordinary award again at the 2010 Women’s Success Forum on October 20th at the Colorado Convention Center.

   

Phyllis Mann

The mother of two daughters and four grandchildren, recently divorced Phyllis is ready for a fresh beginning.  Previously, the Chief Clerk of Bankruptcy Court in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Phyllis also spent four-years as a parent volunteer of the At Risk Team at her daughter’s high school.  “I really care about kids.”  She plans to use her communication degree to pursue a career as a victim’s advocate.

 

 

 

Rose Yolanda Caro

A supervisor for Bonfils Blood Center, Rose Yolanda wants to set a good example for her 12-year-old daughter.  “A bachelor’s degree will be a good foundation for me to go further.”  Her passion is that that at the end of the day, she knows that she is doing something good for the community.  Earning a degree in Business Administration will help Rose to make a bigger impact in the world.

 

 

RoShae'a Alford

Single mother RoShae'a is a collections agent for Scott Lowry Associates, PC.  She aspires to be an attorney, practicing civil law for women and children.  RoShae'a believes that living in an adult situation early in her life and taking responsibility for it, factored into winning the scholarship.  “I think they saw my potential.”  She will work toward a degree in Law and Society.

 

 

 

Wendy Lopez

A legal secretary with Ritsma & Lyon, Wendy’s passion is to be an advocate and help battered women in a non-profit setting.  The scholarship will allow her to pursue a degree in the Law and Society program at The Women’s College.  The mother of one girl and two boys, Wendy’s ambition is to set a good example and, “be a role-model for someone else.”
