Women'sVision Foundation Privacy Policy

Women'sVision Foundation respects your right to the privacy of the personal information you provide us. Other than the uses described here, the Women'sVision Foundation does not sell or distribute information about our members to outside companies.

Membership Information

Information we collect
Our membership registration form requires you to give us Contact Information (name, street and email addresses and telephone numbers); Employment Information (employer and title); Demographic and Profile Information (age, marital status, income level, events and programs for which you registered); and Payment Information (credit card number, expiration date).

Use by Foundation
The national organization and all of its chapters share and use information we collect about you to conduct Foundation business. For example, we use Contact Information to let you know about Foundation news and upcoming programs and events, provide membership notices, and conduct surveys. We also include Contact Information and Employment Information in our membership directory unless you opt-out (see below). Unique identifiers (username and password) are established to limit access to member information.

We use the Demographic and Profile Data in developing our programs and events, marketing programs, sponsorships and strategic alliances. This information may be shared with sponsors or strategic alliance companies or organizations but only on an aggregated basis. When we do provide aggregated information to outside companies or organizations, no one will be able to identify you or contact you from the information we share.

We use Payment Information only for Foundation billing and collection activities and such information will be maintained in strict confidence.

Use by Members
All members have password protected access to the Contact Information and Employment Information contained in our national directory database. Our membership rules limit the use of the information only for the personal benefit of our members and for no other purposes. For example, access to the database would be appropriate for networking with other members. Providing a copy of the membership lists to member's employer or any third party for solicitation or any other commercial purpose are not authorized. We are committed to the privacy of our member information. Any infraction of this privacy rule by a member should be reported to info@womensvision.org and will be dealt with by the Foundation promptly.

Web Site Collected Data

Traffic Data
Each time a visitor comes to the womensvision.org Web site, our servers -- like most on the Web -- collect some basic technical information including, for example, the visitor's domain name (e.g., whether the user is logged on from aol.com or whitehouse.gov), referral data (e.g., we record the address of the last URL a user visited prior to clicking through to a womensvision.org Web site) and browser and platform type (e.g., a Netscape browser on a Macintosh platform).
We also count, track and aggregate the visitor activity into our analysis of general traffic flows at our sites (e.g. tracking where traffic comes from, how traffic flows within the womensvision.org site, etc.). To these ends, we may merge information about visitors and visits into group data, which may then be shared on an aggregated basis with our sponsors or strategic alliance companies. We will not disclose your individual identity or personally identifiable data without your permission.

Use of cookies
A cookie is a small amount of data that is sent to your browser from a Web server and stored on your computer's hard drive. We use cookies in a limited way to help identify unique browsers that visit us and to track usage throughout our site. We also use cookies on our registration site to make the registration process more convenient for members.
Our sponsors may use an outside company to display ads on our site. These ads may contain cookies. While we use cookies in other parts of our Web site, cookies received with banner ads are collected by these outside companies, and we do not have access to this information. Sponsors that place advertising on our site also have the ability to assign their cookies to you in a process that we have no control. However, cookies cannot be used to identify individuals, only machines, so these outside companies will not know who you are.

Surveys
Women'sVision Foundation may, from time to time, conduct surveys to obtain information about members. Such information may be compiled and shared in the aggregate with sponsors, strategic alliance companies and other third parties, but no personal details will be traceable or associated with specific individuals.

Other disclosure of personal information
Women'sVision Foundation will not otherwise use or disclose your personal information without your consent except (i) as described in this privacy policy, or (ii) as required by law, court order or as requested by other government or law enforcement authority.

Opt Out
If you would like to remove your Contact Information and Employment Information from our Directory database, you can send an e-mail requesting removal to info@womensvision.org.

Other sites
Our Web site may contain links to other sites on the Web. We cannot control and are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of such other Web sites.

Policy Changes
If we decide to make changes to our privacy policy, we will post the changes on our homepage. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.

Security
When we ask for sensitive information (such as credit card information), we use SSL encryption software. To learn more about SSL, follow this link to Verisign.
Offline, we restrict access to member information only for authorized personnel. Access to individually identifiable Demographic and Profile Information or Payment Information have is limited to those with a need to know for Foundation purposes. Servers storing the sensitive information are in a locked facility.

Who can you ask if you have any additional questions?
